New Delhi: A man posing as a CBI officer and his accomplice were arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday for allegedly duping people to the tune of crores of rupees.
The main accused has been identified as Lakhwindar Sargana aka Shiva, a resident of Punjab.

"Acting on complaint our team swung into action. Based on credible inputs we nabbed the main accused and his gang. He used to contact innocent men and women and told them that he was a CBI officer. He threatened them to expose if they don’t give money. During the investigation we got to know other people conned victims," the official said.
During their interrogation, the gang members revealed to police that they had committed 36 acts of crime in the national capital before their arrest. After committing the crime, most of them used to throng the night clubs of Gurugram, the police official said.
The gang mostly targeted those households where both husband and wife were working. They also targeted lonely women who were spotted walking on the road. The gang used to mesmerize them and then fled with their money and other belongings.
