New Delhi: Following ETV Bharat's report on the difficulties faced by the Najafgarh Sai Basti, food was distributed to the people by the Janshakti Ekta Sangh and the local SHO.
Amit Gaur, president of the Janshakti Ekta Sangh, thanked the Najafgarh SHO for the police's timely help. Gaur further said that his organisation would continue to work with the authorities in order to deliver essential food supplies to the bastis.
Gaur also extended his gratitude to ETV Bharat, and said that such news reports would help in making people aware of the problems faced by the bastis.
Both the Janshakti Ekta Sangh and the police have asked the people to follow the directions issue by the Delhi government and exercise social distancing in order to break the chain of transmission.
Meanwhile, the police have been frequently appealing to the public to not step out of their homes unless it is absolutely necessary, through mic announcements. The cops have also been informing people to frequently wash their hands.
Earlier yesterday, the minority committee of Delhi distributed food to the poor in Chhatarpur area amid a country-wide lockdown to check the spread of coronavirus.
The humane action came after ETV Bharat had reported the plight of the poor few days back.
