New Delhi: A family has been grieving after Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in the national capital refused to treat a cancer patient who tested positive for the coronavirus.
The woman had been undergoing cancer treatment for a year, however, after the lockdown came in force, the family of the patient took her to the hospital where she was asked to undergo a corona test. "We took her to Babu Jagjivan Ram for corona test. The reports came five days later, further, when we went back to the G B Pant Hospital they straightforwardly denied to admit my mother. Putting out an excuse they said there are no beds available, however, on the website we found out that there were plenty of beds available inside the hospital," the daughter of the corona patient told ETV Bharat.

The daughter further added, "We have been running everywhere to get desired help. All hospitals are denying us. Government has not helped us in any way either. My mother is suffering immensely, she can't even breathe. She needs a chemo as soon as possible but G B Pant Hospital which was treating her for over a year denied her admission. We are so helpless at this moment, I urge government to come to our rescue."
Delhi has so far recorded 14,456 active cases with 650 fatalities.
