Delhi court reserves order in doctor suicide charge sheet against AAP MLA

All the three accused- AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal, Kapil Nagar and Harish Kumar Jarwal - are out on bail, judge lists the case for further hearing on October 5

New Delhi: Delhi Rouse Avenue Court has reserved its order in a charge sheet filed against three accused, including AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal, in the suicide of a doctor in 2020. Additional session Judge Geetanjali Goel has listed the case for the next hearing on October 5.

Jarwal is accused of abetment to suicide of a 52-year-old Dr Rajendra Singh, who hanged himself to death at his residence on 18, April 2020.

Earlier on September 7, partial justifications were tabled before the court on the behalf of accused Kapil Nagar and Harish Kumar Jarwal.

On August 28, Delhi Police had filed a supplementary charge sheet against three accused, including Prakash Jarwal. Currently, all the accused are on regular bail.

The police had recovered a two-page suicide note from the spot in which Prakash Jarwal and Kapil Nagar were held responsible. Police had also recovered a diary in which Prakash Jarwal has been held accountable for seeking bribes for the operation of water tankers owned by the doctor in the Delhi Jal Board.
