New Delhi: Congress on Friday slammed poll strategist Prashant Kishor for his sarcastic tweet on Congress related to the Lakhimpur Kheri clash and said that it is an "offence" to find profit and loss in such a sensitive matter.

The Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala while addressing media in New Delhi replied to Prashant Kishor who tweeted," People looking for a quick, spontaneous revival of GOP led opposition based on #LakhimpurKheri incident are setting themselves up for a big disappointment. Unfortunately there are no quick fix solutions to the deep-rooted problems and structural weakness of GOP." The tweet comes in the context of the media blitz surrounding the visit of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to the families of the farmers run over by a minister's car in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

When asked about the statement made by Prashant Kishor on Twitter, Congress General Secretary said, "I don't want to react on any comment made by a consultant (political),"

However, he added that "It is an utter crime to politicize the Lakhimpur Incident and looking for profit and loss in the situation. I don't comment on individuals, but I want to request such kind of political parties to avoid doing this offence."

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also took a dig at the poll strategist, stating, "People looking for a "national" alternative based on poaching INC functionaries who can't win even their own seats is in for a big disappointment. Unfortunately, to become a national alternative deep-rooted and concerted efforts are needed and there are no quick-fix solutions."

Surjewala also launched a scathing attack on the BJP Government over the Lakhimpur Kheri matter accusing it of defending the father-son duo.

"MoS Home Ajay Teni is a murder accused. His case is pending before Allahabad HC since 2004. But the order has been reserved since 2018," Surjewala said demanding that Ajay Teni should be removed as a minister immediately and an SIT investigation should be done under the two sitting judge.

On the other hand, Supreme Court slammed Uttar Pradesh Government asking why the Union Minister's son Ashish Mishra has not been arrested yet?
