New Delhi: Amid the shortage of medical Oxygen in the country, the traders' body - Confederation of All India Traders or CAIT has written to the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan seeking concentrators for the Oxygen Concentrator Bank.
Oxygen Concentrator Bank was started by the trader's body on 25 April in different states including Delhi ensuring the supply of medical oxygen is not halted.
The oxygen concentrator Bank also makes sure that the medical oxygen is made available to needy people at home.

CAIT's national general secretary Pravin Khandelwal while speaking to ETV Bharat said that they have appealed to the government to import concentrators from other countries and make those available to organisations at reasonable rates, so that help can be provided to the needy people.

CAIT has also written a letter to Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, urging that small nursing homes and hospitals in Delhi should also be included in the allocation of oxygen.
An oxygen concentrator collects oxygen and nitrogen present in the surrounding air and filters the air that it provides to the patient via nasal cannula or oxygen masks. Oxygen concentrators are capable of producing up to 95% of pure oxygen.
