New Delhi: Ministry of Food processing, Government of India has reviewed 36 projects approved earlier over in meetings held via video conferencing.
Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Minister of State Rameshwar Teli held video conferences with promoters of the ongoing Agro Processing Clusters(APC) supported by the Ministry under the scheme for creation of infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters.
36 projects approved by Ministry in the states of Assam,Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh were reviewed. The promoters interacted with the Union Minister of Food Processing and shared their experience gained and also problems faced by them during the implementation of projects.
These meetings were held for 2 days and are in continuation of series of online meetings coordinated by ministry to closely review existing projects. The concerns related to operations, labour and logistic issues were also taken into consideration to help the promoters of the projects.

Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, "Ministry of Food Processing devised a new mechanism to substitute the need for physical site inspection required in these projects. Monthly virtual inspections are being carried out by leveraging the information technology tools.The monitoring and evaluation of progress of project are carried by a team by adopting a virtual inspection model.
"Earlier this year the Ministry of Food Processing Industries was awarded for integrating Information Technology tools and commendable work in office implementation by government of India.
The ministry has dedicated investment portal, Sampada portal for receiving, processing sanctioning application for subsidy under the relevant scheme.
