Meanwhile, villagers started a search operation when he did not reach his house. Later, the police informed the family that his body was found in a jungle adjacent to his house.

Now, the family accused the police of killing the tribal man and demand compensation from the government.

However, Balghat SP Abhishek Mishra said that the police got a tip-off about the Maoist hiding somewhere in the forest. During the search operation, the police personnel had fired 60-70 rounds of the bullet. While returning after completing the operation, they found a body and informed the villagers.

"However, I ordered an enquiry in the matter. If anyone found guilty, we will definitely look into it", added Mishra.
