Dantewada (Chhattisgarh): A hardcore Naxalite who was involved in the October 2018 Nilawaya ambush in which a Doordarshan cameraman and three policemen were killed, surrendered before Chhattisgarh police on Tuesday.
The Maoist, Bheema Markam, 22, a resident of Katekalyna in Dantewada district, carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head.
Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallav said that he was also part of a Maoist team that attacked a police convoy in 2019 at Petedabba in the district.
The deadly Naxal was a member of the Maoist platoon number 24 active under Naxal Malangir Area Committee. He carried a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, the SP added.
Maoists recruited Markam in 2014, police said.
