Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh): The situation of hospitals dealing with COVID cases in Chhattisgarh is pathetic. In Mahasamund's District Hospital, a young man affected by Covid was seen sitting on a chair with an oxygen cylinder for over three hours, as there were no vacant beds in the hospital.
Recently, the Parliamentary Secretary on his visit to the hospital had instructed the authorities to take necessary action, in view of the poor arrangements made.

A young man from Mahasamund, who was diagnosed with Corona recently, had reached the district hospital on Wednesday morning due to breathing difficulties. As the beds were not empty, he was put on oxygen in the hospital premises itself and made to sit on a chair. An image of him sitting on the chair visibly distressed has led to the hospital management draw flak from all corners.
Following the massive outrage over the incident, the CMHO got a bed arranged for the young man and his treatment is on. An additional ward comprising 30 beds with oxygen supply is also being constructed by the authorities on a war footing.
