Gariaband (Chhattisgarh): The outbreak of the novel coronavirus is affecting us all. Apart from the doctors and the nurses, who are fighting on the frontlines, there are other heroes too who are going the extra mile to help.
The sweepers and cleaning staff in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband are not only involved in maintaining hygiene in the areas but they have also donated 35 thousand rupees to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to fight against coronavirus.
At a time when the county is reeling under coronavirus crisis, these workers have emerged as the unsung heroes.
In this time of distress, people are coming together and standing as one in this fight against the novel virus.
It was an emotional moment for district collector Shyam Dhawade and Municipality President Gaffar Memon, when these workers, many of whom are daily wage workers, collected the amount and handed it over to them.
Usha Kewarth, who assists in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund said that some of them have contributed from their salary whereas some have donated their savings.
On the other hand, Municipality President Ghaffar Memon said that if these workers, who earn very less can help, then we can also go ahead and help our country in this difficult time.
