A young businessman, Vipin Gopal Rai, was shot dead by unknown bike-borne assailants in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Friday.

Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A young businessman was shot dead by unknown bike-borne assailants in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Friday. The victim, Vipin Gopal Rai, died on the spot.

The incident happened in Aurai Police station area.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unknown people.

No arrest has been made in the case yet.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)-East of Muzaffarpur Gaurav Pandey said, "The case is being investigated. Eyewitnesses say that 12 bullets were fired at him. We are trying to identify the criminals behind this. How many bullets were fired will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes."
