Patna: In yet another attempt to promote women empowerment in Bihar, the state police has inducted women commandos, who are trained in jungle warfare, counter-insurgency, and anti-terrorism.
The women commandos have returned back after completing their three months of rigorous training at the CRPF’s Mudkhed training center in Maharashtra.
All the women commandos, who are trained to combat terrorism, Maoist activities, and organized crime, will be subsequently deployed in the security of VVIPs like SSG of the state police, which is responsible for the CM’s security.
During training, all the women commandos have been trained to handle weapons like Insas, SLR, AK-47, MP-5, MP-9, and LMG. These commandos spend a week in a remote jungle with a survival kit to complete their training.

Speaking on the matter, DG Alok Raj said, "Women commandos of police have been selected from various corps. In this, two of our office bearers have played a very important role. After selection, they were given training and all of them have received rigorous training. Now, they will be deputed as per the requirement."
Earlier on June 26, 134 personnel from 13 battalions of the BMP, Mahila battalion, and Swabhiman battalion were selected for the purpose. However, only 92 were sent for training to the CRPF training center at Mudkhet.
