Motihari (Bihar): A lot of devastation has been caused by the catastrophic floods in Bihar’s East Champaran district. If the floods have collapsed someone’s house, many others have lost their near and dear ones. The story of Sheikh Bhola, a resident of Ward No. 13 under Banjariya block of Siswa East Panchayat, is quite touching as he lost everything in the devastating floods.

Sheikh Bhola's son Mukarram died while saving a buffalo from drowning in the floodwater. Neither the buffalo could be saved nor did Mukarram survive the fury of floods. He drowned in the floodwater. Sheikh Bhola, who worked as a mason, got his right hand severely damaged in an accident. Now, he is not able to do anything. The buffalo was the only source of income for him. He used to sell milk to meet his family’s needs. He was completely shattered after the death of his son Mukarram.

After a few days, Sheikh Bhola mustered all courage left with and bought a second buffalo for Rs 60,000 to earn a living. He borrowed the money from someone as he was penniless. Someone shared Sheikh Bhola’s painful story on social media, which somehow reached film actor Sonu Sood.

SONU SOOD ASSURES HELP

As soon as Bhola’s tragic story reached Sonu Sood, he assured him to give money to help him buy a buffalo. Sheikh Bhola and his wife Naida Khatoon said that a woman called them up. The woman told them on the phone that she is speaking from Mumbai and she will repay them the money they spent on buying the buffalo. Bhola and Naida said that the caller has taken their account number, but the money has not yet been credited. But the husband and the wife are confident that soon the money will come in their account.
