Jaipur: The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted a search operation at the premises of a Transport Department officer in an alleged disproportionate assets case in capital Jaipur, officials said.
It is understood that the searches were carried out at ten locations after orders from the court in this regard.
ACB ASP Bhagchand said that a complaint of disproportionate assets was received against Assistant Regional Transport Officer Sanjay Sharma following which a case of disproportionate assets was registered into the matter.
On the orders of the court, a search operation has been conducted at ten locations in Jaipur by the ACB, the ASP said. He said that a search operation was conducted at Sanjay Sharma's office in Vidyadhar Nagar as well as his residence in Vaishali Nagar. Searches were also conducted at the locations of his brother and other relatives according to the ASP.
He said that information was sought about property, bank accounts and lockers, cash and jewellery at the said locations. Further investigation will be carried forward by matching the evidence found in the search and the information received in the complaint, the ASP further said.
Besides the said locations, a team of ACB also searched a jeweller institute located in Vaishali Nagar in connection with the case. It is believed that Sanjay Sharma has done transactions with this jeweller in exchange for gold.
It is learnt that besides Jaipur, searches were also carried out in Bharatpur and Uttar Pradesh.
