Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday kicked off their election campaign in the poll-bound Bihar.
PM Modi and Gandhi addressed three public meetings whereas Gandhi addressed two public meetings. Gandhi addressed one rally along with RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav at Hisua in Nawada district.
On his debut rally in Bihar, election PM chose to attack Lalu Prasad and his family on the issue of corruption whereas Gandhi chose to attack Modi on Galwan issue accusing him of giving shelter to the Chinese troops in India.
Modi categorically accused the UPA government alleging that the Congress at the centre did not allow chief minister Nitish Kumar to work and wasted 10 years of Bihar. Modi said this during his first public meeting at Dehri-On-Sone covering thirteen assembly constituencies.
Modi addressed his second rally in Gaya covering 10 assembly constituencies and the last rally in silk city Bhagalpur in support of 13 NDA candidates.
Modi addressed his first rally before Rahul Gandhi and more or less Rahul was actually giving replies to the speech of the PM raising the same issue that Modi had already raised in Dehri-On-Sone.
Without naming anyone, Modi attacked the main opposition party stressing upon poor law and order in the state in the regime of RJD.
Modi also asserted that those people who made Bihar as Bimaru state would not be allowed to return to power. He also stressed that NDA is all set to retain power in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
PM vehemently attacked RJD calling it's an end of lalten (hurricane lamp) era in Bihar alleging that there was a time when people used to spend the whole night at railway station till morning if the train used to reach in the night fearing robbery.
He also mocked that in RJD's regime people never used to purchase four wheelers fearing that others will come to know about their wealth.
Gandhi on other hand accused PM of insulting the brave Indian soldiers guarding the nation of the border and also alleged that PM bowed down in front of farmers but shows loyalty towards industrialists and does not help the farmers.
Talking about the Covid pandemic, Gandhi also accused Modi of not helping the poor people and allegedly allowed them to die. During the first joint public meeting with Tejashwi, the Congress leader did not miss the opportunity to attack BJP led NDA government at Centre over the farm bill.
Gandhi alleged that the farm bill has been made with an aim to attack the farmers. He also reminded people about the demonetisation claiming that people had to stand in long queues under the scorching heat and rain to get their own money.
Addressing the impressive crowd in the support of Congress candidate Neetu Singh who is fielded against BJP's MLA Anil Singh at Inters School Ground, Gandhi appealed to the people to vote for Grand Alliance to form a new government in the state.
Later Gandi addressed another public meeting at Kahalgaon where he stressed upon similar issues urging people to vote for Grand Alliance. Gandhi however, did not stress upon the call given by Tejashwi which deals with providing 10 lakh government jobs if RJD voted to power.
The PM on the other hand also did something similar by not uttering a single word about Chirag Paswan and LJP which people of Bihar were expecting at the time when all Bihar BJP and JDU leaders called him votekatua (vote cutter). Modi in fact paid tribute to departed soul Ram Vilas Paswan and also to Raghuvansh Prasad Singh who passed away recently.
At the end of the public meeting in Bhagalpur - PM urged the people of Bihar to go for local during the festive time and purchase things made locally giving indirect hint to boycott Chinese goods.
Modi will all together address 12 rallies and now nine more to go. The next rally will be held in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Patna on October 28 when first phase polling will take place.
