Patna (Bihar): Suspected Coronavirus positive Indian Muslim nationals are being pushed from Nepal to India, the intelligence wing of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a paramilitary force, has said, alerting the government and security agencies.
The intelligence wing of the force alerted District Magistrate of Bihar's West Champaran district and Superintendent of Police of Bettiah. The force stated that there is an input regarding the movement of suspected Corona positive Indian Muslim nationals from Nepal to India.
The SSB top officers have stated that the letter was issued to the local authorities.
The letter stated, "Input received from very reliable sources that one person named Jalim Mukhiya, resident of Jagannathpur under Serwa police station in Parsa district in Nepal, is planning to spread Corona pandemic in India."
According to the information, Zalim Mukhiya wants to send 40 to 50 people of a particular religion through Nepal to India and all these are corona infected.
All these have been kept in a mosque on the Nepal border. After which the Bettiah district administration has written a letter to all the SPs, sub-divisional officers and asked to remain alert.
Reacting on this, the Director-General of police, Gupteshwar Pandey said to ETV Bharat that Bihar's borders have been completely sealed and they are keeping utmost vigil.
"No one from the neighbouring states or country can enter Bihar as the state's borders have been completely sealed. The Police are maintaining tight vigil in order to avoid any infiltration during the lockdown," said Pandey.
He further said that all the sensitive areas in the state have been sealed and officials have been ordered to be on high alert.
"The district officials have also been instructed to check the crowd at the vegetable market," added Pandey.
At the same time, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Aamir Shantani said that we will not let them come at any cost through Nepal's roads. We are vigilant and the borders are sealed. Every point is being investigated and administration is alert. Information has also been given to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
