Speaking with ETV Bharat, Ayesha said that she didn't inform her family because they would have never agreed to the match. "I had to take the step to meet the love of my life. I am happy here and have no issues," she further said.

When the local MLA Vijay Kumar Mandal came to know about the incident, he called both the boy and the girl and after having ascertained that Ayesha as an adult wanted to marry Saddam out of her own choice, got them married at his residence according to Islamic rituals.
