Mentally challenged man detained with foreign currency

A mentally challenged man was detained for allegedly having a mobile phone with international contact numbers and Nepali currency. Police have also recovered a Nepali mobile voucher from his possession.

East Champaran (Bihar): Police have detained a mentally challenged man in Bihar's East Champaran district for allegedly having a mobile phone with international contacts and messages of receiving funds from the foreign countries.

The matter came in limelight after the person who has been roaming in the town for the last three months with a long beard and ragged clothes was seen talking over a mobile phone, which creates suspicion to the locals.

When he was questioned by the locals, the unidentified man failed to answer any of the queries and finally, the residents took him to the Dhaka police station for further investigation.

Meanwhile, police have recovered top-up vouchers of the Nepali telecom operators and Nepali currency from the man.

However, when police asked him about his nationality, he answered in some foreign language which the police could not able to decode.

When the ETV Bharat asked the Dhaka Sub-Inspector, he denied taking questions related to the case.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Naveen Chandra Jha reacted on the questions over the phone and said, "The investigations are underway in the matter. We will inform the media as soon as we will able to decode his language."
