Major train accident averted at Bihar's Sadisopur railway station

Passengers travelling in train number 02520 had a narrow escape when the engine of the train got detached from its bogies while the train was on the move. However, none of the passengers was injured as the loco-pilot had stopped the train immediately after the boogies got decoupled.

Patna (Bihar): A major train accident was averted at Sadisopur railway station in Bihta. The train was going from Kamakhya to Lok Manya Tilak. The moving train split into two parts and seven bogies of the train were left behind which caused panic among the passengers. The train was, however, moving at a low speed.

As the frightened passengers started to shout out of panic, the alert driver stopped the train which averted a major accident that could have taken hundreds of lives.

Half the coaches of the train were left behind by about a kilometre.

However, none of the passengers was injured as the loco-pilot had stopped the train immediately after the bogies got decoupled.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the top officials and engineers of Danapur Railway Division reached the spot and train services were restored after two hours.

Train services at Howrah-Delhi railway route were also stopped due to which many trains remained standing at different stations.

One of the passengers said that the train was already delayed for four hours and all the passengers got scared due to the accident.

He further blamed the railway authorities and said that due to the negligence of the authorities a big accident could have happened.

Afterwards, the railway engineers coupled together the remaining bogies with the train which was later sent to Lokmanya Tilak station.
