Patna: Janata Dal-United has expelled vice president Prashant Kishor and general secretary Pavan Varma, from the party for indulging in 'anti-party activities'.
Of late, several leaders of the JD(U) including Prashant Kishor, which is running an alliance government in Bihar with the BJP, have denounced union government's decision to implement the CAA and the NRC.
Former MP Pawan Verma had written a letter to Nitish Kumar against the party’s decision on CAA. Verma was reportedly not happy for JD(U)’s alliance with BJP in Delhi. He did not want JD(U) to contest Delhi assembly elections with the BJP.
Peeved over JDU's support to the citizenship law, Prashant Kishor in December last year, handed over his resignation to the party chief Nitish Kumar, which was not accepted.
Prashant Kishor, also deleted the party designation from his bio on Twitter.
