Samastipur: After the shocking rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Telangana, a semi-burnt body of a woman was found in Bihar's Samastipur district on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the deceased woman's mouth was stuffed with a cloth and the body was recovered from the tobacco field here.
The identity of the woman could not be ascertained as her face has been destroyed completely.
As per sources, the locals noticed the woman's burnt body and informed the police. Soon after receiving the information about the incident, the police team reached the spot.
Speaking to media, Superintendent of Police (SP), Vikas Varman said, "A half-burnt body of a woman has been recovered. We have contacted the nearby villages and trying to identify the dead body."
Meanwhile, the body has been sent for postmortem and further investigation into the case is underway
