Katihar: A truck and car collided killing eight people in the wee hours of Tuesday near Kursela in Katihar district. Reportedly, three people were injured.
The incident happened at 5 am. Sources said that the deceased and injured who belong to West Bengal were on their way back after attending a wedding ceremony.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot immediately and sent the mortal remains to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police have initiated investigation.
According to sources, the truck is registered in the name of someone living in Purnia and the car, Scorpio is from West Bengal. It is speculated that the car driver would have fallen asleep, leading to the accident. The collision was severe that two people were trapped inside the car and were taken out after strenuous effort of two hours.
