Congress must waive farm loans: BJP on Jharkhand Congress' tractor rally

New Delhi: Jharkhand BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash on Tuesday slammed the state government for providing their support to the agitating farmers and termed the government as "the biggest enemy of the farmers".

While speaking to ETV Bharat, the Rajya Sabha MP said that the Congress-JMM-RJD led alliance always crushed the farmers and alleged that the state government has not yet paid the loan amount of Rs 2 lakh which was promised during the state Assembly elections last year.

Further, the minister slammed the grand old party for organising a rally in Hazaribagh in support of the agitating farmers in the national capital.

"Congress ruled for more than 70 years in the country. At that time, they had made many promises to the farmers but none of them has been fulfilled yet", added Prakash.

Farmers have been protesting at the different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted farm laws: Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
