New Delhi: Bihar Road Minister Nitin Naveen, who came to Delhi on Tuesday meet Union Road and Transportation Minister Nitin Gadkari and finalised several new development projects including a parallel bridge at JP Setu. The minister said that the construction work on Bihta-Koilwar, Maheshkhunt-Purnea and Patna- Areraj would start soon.

"A construction worth of Rs 1 lakh 17 thousand crores have been going on. It is the result of the Centre-State coalition that the people of Bihar is now enjoying," said Naveen.

Earlier on Thursday, Gadkari said that the Centre's target is to reduce road accident deaths by 50 per cent by the year 2024. Addressing a virtual session on 'Role of Corporates in Arresting Road Fatalities' organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Gadkari congratulated the corporate body on the announcement of Road Safety consortium 'Safar', based on the safe system approach and release of a white paper on road safety for the corporate world.
