Patna: While the rumours of LJP being sidelined in the NDA ahead of the Bihar polls, posters have been put up in Patna by the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) HAM(S) in which all the leaders of the NDA alliance can be seen with the exception of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan.
According to sources, the BJP has objected to the use of the photo of Prime Minister Modi by the LJP in the election and has also rejected the slogan of the LJP. The BJP says that there is an alliance with LJP in Delhi (centre) and not in Patna.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Sushil Modi said, "We got to know that some Independent candidates and dozens of parties in Bihar might use photos of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If needed, we will write to EC that BJP, JD(U), VIP, HAM are contesting together and only they can use PM' Modi's photos. If someone else uses it, EC can take action accordingly."
"If Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's health condition is well, the issue would have been different. Ram Vilas Paswan was sent to Rajya Sabha with JD(U) support. There is no confusion over Nitish Kumar's leadership as he will be next CM," said Modi.
Notably, there is an alliance between BJP and JDU in Bihar. BJP has decided to contest elections under Nitish Kumar's leadership. From Amit Shah to JP Nadda and Bhupendra Singh Yadav have clearly stated this. The situation of confusion has arisen due to the way LJP is pushing the electoral tide against JDU and decided to support Prime Minister Modi's name. BJP cleared the situation regarding LJP during a press conference in Patna.
Bihar has 243 Assembly constituencies and elections in the state are due in October-November as the tenure of the current Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29, sources added.
