Bhojpur (Bihar): A man was shot dead in Bihar's Bhojpur on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mahendra Yadav, husband of Amravati Devi, head of West Gundi panchayat, Barhara block of Arrah. The incident took place on Saraiya Bazar road under Krishnagarh police station limits. The video of the incident went viral on social media and shows miscreants chasing Yadav, who was riding a bike.
After moving a little distance, the chief's husband falls, along with the motorcycle, then the miscreants reach there and shot him in the head. In the meantime, another accused reached there and shot him twice. After observing no movements in the body, both of them fled the spot leaving the body there.

After the incident, the locals and relatives of the deceased blocked the road and started raising slogans against the police. On receiving the information, Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar reached the spot. While consoling the family members of the deceased, the SP assured to arrest the criminals involved in the incident soon. After this, the relatives of the deceased and the protesters left the spot.

"Panchayat head's husband has been shot dead. We received the information stating that two miscreants were involved in the crime. Police are examining the CCTV footage installed near the spot. The police launched a man-hunt to nab the accused, who are absconding," Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar said.
