New Delhi: Bihar Minister Vinod Singh has passed away at Medanta Hospital in Delhi on Monday while undergoing treatment for brain haemorrhage.
The BJP MLA from Pranpur in Katihar was the Minister of Backward and Extremely Backward Welfare Department under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.
He got infected from coronavirus in June and after recovering from the pandemic he suffered a brain haemorrhage. He was brought to New Delhi by air ambulance.
In 2017, when Nitish Kumar returned to NDA and formed the government in Bihar, for the first time, Vinod Singh was appointed as the Minister of Mines and Geology Department.
As per his family members, his body will be shifted to Patna from Delhi on Monday evening and from there it will be taken to Katihar on Tuesday for his last rites.
Singh became an MLA for the first time in 2000. He also won the 2015 Assembly Elections and has been considered as an ideal leader who was connected with locals.
