Lakhisarai: Former Jawaharlal Nehru (JNU) Students’ Union and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar came under attack once again.
This time, the slipper was thrown at Kanhaiya Kumar in Bihar's Lakhisarai district during his anti-CAA rally in the city's Gandhi Maidan on Monday afternoon.
However, slippers missed Kumar and fell on the stage.
The accused, identified as Chandan Kumar Gaure has been detained by police.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Kanhaiya Kumar said, "On February 27, the 'Jan-Gan-Man Yatra' will turn into a 'Desh Bachao, Nagarikta Bcchao' rally. In that, I will request from Bihar govt. to reject CAA and NPR."
On asking about the slipper thrown on him, he said, "It was a miss. Had I got one, I would have kept and worn it."
Meanwhile, when the slipper was thrown, the angry crowd started beating Chandan, the accused. The police rescued Chandan, and then took him to hospital for treatment.

In this context, Chandan, the accused said, "Kanhaiya Kumar is anti-nationalist. Because of him (Kanhaiya Kumar) FIR was filed against 2700 youths. For this, I took revenge on him by throwing a slipper, had I had something else, I would throw that too," while speaking to ETV Bharat.
Moreover, out of 17 rallies he has so far held, Kanhaiya has been heckled and attacked at nine places during the course of his Jan Gan Man Yatra in Bihar.
The month-long 'Jan-Gan-Man Yatra' against NRC and CAA, began on January 30 from Bihar's Bettiah and is expected to end on February 27 with a rally in the state capital.
Earlier, during his rallies, Kumar has faced pelting stones, throwing slippers, eggs, inks and engine oil at his convoy in different cities of Bihar like Gaya, Nawada, Katihar, Supaul, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Bhagalpur and other places.
At Nawada, the youths protesting his yatra threw eggs, slippers and engine oil at his convoy.
At some places window screens of a vehicle accompanying Kumar’s convoy were broken and some people were injured.
