Bihar: Due to the threat of COVID-19 outbreak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24th announced a nationwide lockdown from midnight to contain the spread of COVID-19. Bihar govt on the other hand had imposed a lockdown in the urban areas of the state on March 22 after Janata Curfew was observed on the same day.
Villages across Bihar have shown truly remarkable participation in the fight against community transmission of COVID-19 pandemic which has so far reported 724 positive cases in India.
While in many areas of Bihar, the administration has to be strict with lockdown violators, villagers in many districts of the state have been immensely contributing their part by putting themselves in self isolation. Moreover, they have put up barricades on all roads connecting rural villages and have appointed guards to keep a strict vigilance on the unnecessary movements in the street.

The impact of Modi’s speech is clearly visible as people across places have put up boards reading ‘No Entry’ in the view of danger posed by COVID-19. The panic of coronavirus has taken a steep rise as the number of COVID-19 positive cases climbed to six with one fatality reported in the state.
West Champaran: Outsiders entry prohibited in the village
Deputy Head of Harnatand Panchayat of West Champaran said that, "It was decided by the village that the movement of outsiders in this village will be strictly prohibited and to follow this people have started a unique initiative.” He further added that there are about 150 houses in this village and coronavirus pandemic can easily be defeated if all of us vow to take strict precaution and make other people aware about various precautionary measures.
Bagaha: Restrictions on moving out of the villages
At the same time, dozens of villages in Bagaha subdivision area, especially in the Tiruhat region, have completely barricaded the roads connecting the villages. The villagers are following the call of the PM's lockdown in about 25 villages. In addition to that social distancing is also being followed.
Banka: Villagers display board 'Please do not enter'
At the same time, the fear of this virus in Banka district can be seen from the fact that the villagers of Kenolia of Barahat block have barricaded the main road connecting the village with bamboo and bat. They have put up a message on the board stating 'Please do not enter the village. Stay home and stay safe'.
On the other hand, a total of 1228 passengers have been put under surveillance so far in Bihar, of which 183 are from Gopalganj. Out Of all the passengers, 162 have completed their 14-day quarantine period.
