Two women abducted and raped in Assam

Two women who were returning to Tripura from Silchar medical college in a rental car was abducted and allegedly raped by a gang of six people in Karimnagar district of Assam. The police have arrested a person in connection with the case.

Karimganj (Assam): Two girls travelling in a rental car were allegedly kidnapped and raped a group of six men at Nilambazar in Karimganj district.

According to sources, the girls were returning to Tripura after visiting their mother who was admitted at Silchar Medical College.

Around 1 a.m on Saturday the driver of the car took a deviation and took the girls to an under-construction building in Nilambazar area. As per the complaint filed by the victims, the driver along with five others raped them inside the building.

The victims who later managed to run away and filed a case at Bazarisara Police Station.

Based on the complaint filed by the victims, police has started investigating the case.

The police have detained one accused and has collected evidence from the place where the crime took place.

The accused is identified as Abdul Ahad.

The Superintendent of Police (SP) along with the senior police officials are interrogating the accused at Nilambazar Police station for further details.
