New Delhi: Amidst a possible entry of former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal into the Narendra Modi cabinet, sitting BJP MP from Guwahati Queen Oja told ETV Bharat that his entry into the central government will yield positive results for Assam.
"Sarbananda Sonowal has vast experience as a central minister and his entry will definitely bring positive results for the country especially Assam," said Oja in an exclusive interview to ETV Bharat.
Sonowal has been called into the national capital by the central leadership of BJP before the much-expected cabinet reshuffle takes place next week.
Sonowal to be inducted into Modi cabinet? Sources close to Sonowal told ETV Bharat on Saturday that he is likely to get a ministry which is one of the topmost priority of the Modi Government.
Interestingly, Sonowal called on DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday afternoon.
The Ministry of Development for Northeastern Region (DoNER) is one such ministry of the Modi Government which has always been geeting priority. DoNER works exclusively for the Northeast.
Ever since Modi came to the power he has been giving topmost priority to the development of Northeastern states.

Interestingly, DoNER minister Singh also assumes several other ministries including PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions as well as Department of Atomic Energy and Space.
"If he gets DoNER ministry there will be a huge change and development in Northeast. Under his leadership the Ministry can definitely make a difference whether it is sanctioning a project or its implementation," said Oja.
Sonowal who has landed in the national capital on Friday will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and a few other senior party leaders of BJP.
Oja said that with Sonowal's induction into the Modi cabinet, all the MPs in Assam will get a guardian figure at the Centre who can guide them in the State.
"We already have one guardian in the State as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and if we get Sonowal at the Centre, it will definitely boost our energy to work more," said Oja.
The chances of Sonowal getting entry into the Modi Government have further strengthened following the fact that Sonowal being a popular leader in Assam, ran the State Government for the last five years with his clear image.

Just before the name of incumbent Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma was cleared by the party, Sonowal has been told that he will also get a major responsibility in the coming days.
"In our last meeting in New Delhi, JP Nadda told us that for the next five years I will run the State government and Sarbananda Sonowal will be given a new major responsibility," Chief Minister Sharma has earlier said.
Sonowal earlier served as Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in the first term of Narendra Modi government from 2014-2016 before he choose to be the Chief Minister of Assam in 2016.
