Tinsukia (Assam): The CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) patrolling party on Sunday recovered two bundles of five gelatine sticks in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. CRPF suspects three youths of carrying the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in a bag, as they fled when they saw the CRPF team, leaving behind the IED.
Each of the gelatin sticks was fitted with a small flexible wire. "Three suspects might have fled to Assam via Podumoni and Ekorani village. The search operation is underway," SP Namsai said.
CRPF team informed the officials, Police, and Bomb expert, and a team of bomb experts reached the spot and carried the IED to a safe place to defuse. Security forces start a search operation after they notice the ULFA-I and some other ban outfits' movement in several areas of the Tinsukia district.
On the other hand, amid the sensation of IED recovery two NSCN-KYA militant caders were arrested by Arunachal Police and Assam Rifles in the Nampong area of Arunachal. Security forces seized one Chinese AK-47, two magazines, 490 rounds of live ammunition, and one pistol. The arrested caders are identified as Nayan Kumar Chakma and Gangwang Wangley. The agencies have launched a probe and the interrogation of the nabbed accused is underway.
