Visakhapatnam: Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling him 'U-turn Babu', Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said it was not him but the BJP-led government at the Centre which did not fulfil its promise of special status to Andhra Pradesh.
"You are taking a U-turn, not me. Why we had an alliance with you? I came to you (PM Modi) 29 times regarding special status request," the AP Chief Minister said.
"BJP demanded special status to Andhra and the Prime Minister accepted this. Are they playing games now?" he asked.
Naidu further said, "What is the hindrance in granting special status to the state? People of the country and all major political parties are supporting it. I am asking the PM, are you not taking a u-turn? It is very clear that the people are now anti-Modi and BJP."
Attacking BJP leaders' claims over Balakot airstrike, the Chief Minister said, "In airstrike, you said over 300 terrorists were killed but no international media confirmed this."
