YSR District (Andhra Pradesh) : A serious road accident took place in YSR district. In this incident, seven people died and five were seriously injured. According to the police, 14 relatives from Tadipatri in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and Ballari in Karnataka went to visit Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy in a toofan vehicle. After darshan, they left for their homes in the same vehicle.
In the middle of the journey, on the Kadapa-Tadipatri main road, near Eturu village of Kondapur Mandal, YSR district, the toofan vehicle in which all of them were travelling lost control and collided with a lorry coming in the opposite direction. All seven people died on the spot in this accident. Five others were seriously injured. Locals noticed the mishap and shifted the injured to the Tadipatri Government Hospital in 108 vehicles.
The injured were being treated there. On receiving the information, CI Sudarshan Prasad and SS Satyanarayana reached the spot and inspected it. Adequate measures were taken without disrupting traffic.

Only yesterday, a gruesome road accident took place in Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada when six persons were killed in a bus-auto collision. The impact of the mishap was very high and all the victims died instantaneously. Four others received bleeding injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The police officials said that everybody should give top priority to road safety considering the frequent occurrence of road accidents taking a heavy toll on human lives. The road users and drivers were asked to avoid overspeeding at any cost so that precious could be saved.
