Guntur: A pregnant woman underwent harrowing experience after she got stranded in the floods as her village was surrounded at Kollur Mandal.
With the access roads flooded, disconnecting the access to the village, the woman went into labour on Thursday morning and there was no way to the hospital.
The ambulance also could not reach the village. Villagers alerted the police and they quickly jumped into action.
Initially, they tried to carry the woman on a sling across the flooded roads. But it could not be done as she was in acute labour. The family urged the elderly women in the village to help and the woman delivered the baby.
