Vijayawada: Main temples across the state are abuzz with festivities. Sharannavaratri celebrations have begun at Indrakeeladri and Srisailam temples while
annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateshwara began at Tirumala on Wednesday.
Dwajarohanam will take place here on Thursday as part of the annual Brahmotsavams of Thirumala Srivaru. Today evening flag will be hoisted on the temple flagpole. Lord Venkateshwara Swamy will ride on various Vahanams for nine days. TTD was conducting Brahmotsavams in solitude and Vahana Sevas will be conducted at Kalyana Mandapam, Swamivari Sannidhi, Padi Kavali and Kalyana Mandapam. Tirumala temple and Ranganayakula Mandapam were decorated with five tonnes of flowers while Tirumala circles were illuminated.
According to tradition, Vijayawada Police Commissioner has offered 'Sare' (Saree, vermillion, turmeric, flowers, bangles, fruits and sweets) as part of celebrations. And in Srisailam, too, the festive atmosphere was witnessed as part of the Dussehra celebrations. Temple was decorated with flowers and illuminated. Goddess Sribhamaramba Devi will appear in Shailaputri avatar to devotees.
