Four killed as car plunges into canal in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur

Four persons were killed as the car they were travelling in plunged into the Tangedumalli Major canal in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district early today morning.

Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): Four persons were killed after the car they were travelling in plunged into a canal in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district early on Friday morning.

The incident took place on the Rompicharla-Subaiahpalem road, as the car plunged into the Tangedumalli Major canal.

Meanwhile, the victim's bodies have been shifted to the Narsaraopeta government hospital.

According to a recent NCRB report, as many as 17,938 people were killed in road accidents and other mishaps in Andhra Pradesh in 2019.

According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India -2019, the total number of accidents in Andhra Pradesh slightly came down to 22,188 in 2019 as against 22,534 in 2018.
