Ongole (Andhra Pradesh): Alleging that the superintendent was not even providing masks to the medical staff, a doctor staged a protest outside the Chirala hospital in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district.
Dr Subhashini alleged that the medical staff at the hospital, where an isolation ward has been set up for COVID-19 patients, were not being provided with adequate equipment.
She said that despite Chirala having a few COVID-19 positive cases, the staff were not provided with masks even after she had been demanding them for the past 15 days.
Finally, following the doctor's protest, the superintendent acquired a mask for her.
After receiving the mask, Dr Subhashini said that the staff at the hospital were ready to even work for 24 hours a day to fight COVID-19, but they had to be provided with protective equipment to keep themselves safe.
