According to reports, the subsequent flooding due to incessant rains has damaged the interior of the temple. But the villagers did not want to relocate, demolish or rebuilt the structure for various reasons.

They claim that reconstruction costs will be high and the elders of the village have advised against demolition and restructure of the temple. The task of raising the foundation has been handed over to the Chennai-based Jai Baba lift service.

Since the task has started the foundation of the temple has been raised to two feet. The aim is to raise it to four feet to deal with annual inundation.
