Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh): Four-Armed Reserve police constables of the Andhra Pradesh police force were killed in a road accident on Monday in Srikakulam district. As per information, the constables were returning to the district headquarters in Srikakulam town after attending the last rites of an Army jawan near Itchapuram.

The vehicle they were travelling lost control and jumped to the other side of the road when a lorry hit it from the opposite direction, leading to a sickening collision between the two vehicles. The impact of the accident led to the deaths of the four constables.

Their bodies were retrieved from the badly mangled vehicle and rushed to the Government General Hospital at Srikakulam. The senior authorities of the administration also rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed grief over the deaths of four policemen in the road accident.
