Andhra Pradesh Flood: Srisailam Reservoir about to reach its full capacity

The total height of the Srisailam reservoir is 885 feet and presently it has 871 feet of water in it. The flood situation in Andhra Pardesh is worsening with the water level of both, the reservoir and the rivers, rising.

Andhra Pradesh: The water level of the Srisailam reservoir increased rapidly as 3 lakh cusecs of water were released into it from the Jurala reservoir.

The height of the Srisailam reservoir is 885 feet. And the current water level in the reservoir is 870.90 feet.

The reservoir recently received 2,400 cusecs of water from the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation and 42,378 cusecs of water from a left-hand power station.

The water level of the Srisailam Reservoir is about it reach its full capacity.

If the water level goes up 14 feet more, it would fill up the reservoir completely.

About 15 houses in the area are already underwater due to the Nagavali river floods. The schools and houses of the Vizianagaram district are also submerged in floodwater.

The flood victims of the area are requesting the officials to take necessary actions as soon as possible.

The Vizianagaram district is receiving water from the Thotapalli Barrage. Also, the water level of the Nagavali river is increasing due to floods.

The Commissioner of the state is observing the situation from State Emergency Disaster Management Center. He has advised the officials to keep vigilance over the affected areas and people in the state.

Srisailam reservoir water level is increasing rapidly. Flood water uptake is continuing steadily. 3 lakhs cusecs water has been released to Srisailam from Jurala. The full water level of Srisailam is 885 feet .... current water level has crossed 870.90 feet. 2,400 cusecs water water recived from Kalwakurthy lift irrigation...42,378 cusecs water by left-hand power station and 32 thousand 66 cusecs by the right-hand power station. If the water rises another 14 feet .. Srisailam is filled. 

Nagavali flood in Villages....15 houses are in water



Kurupam Constituency of Vijayanagaram District Jiyammavalasa Mandal Basangi village under Nagaswali flood. School premises were completely flooded. There are about 384 houses in the village. 15 of them are in flood. Flood victims requesting higher officials to take necessary actions. 

Because of rains in Odisha.. Nagavali flood water floating increasing steadily. Water coming to Thotapalli project in Vijayanagarm dist.

Flood uptake is increasing to Vamsadhara, Nagavali rivers. Growing flood water at Gotta Barriage, Thottapalli. Commissioner is being observing from State Emergency Disaster Management Center. Officials advise people in affected districts to be vigilant.
