Hyderabad: A young leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who hails from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, made his name in the recently concluded 2020 U-19 World Cup in South Africa. The youngster was the highest wicket-taker in the mega event.

In an exclusive interview with the ETV Bharat, the young lad opened up about his journey of being a school cricketer to representing India in WC.

Ravi said, "The journey in the World Cup was very fascinating, Playing all the matches was special and when you perform on such a big stage, you get to learn a lot. It is a great feeling to represent the country, that gave me the confidence to do better. "

T20 cricket is even a bigger stage for young leg spinners and now Ravi has been picked by the Indian Premier League's franchise Kings XI Punjab. The 19-year-old was bought by the KL Rahul side for a whopping 2 crore.

Talking about his cricket journey, the star from the Jodhapar said that he had to face a lot of problems in the beginning.

"The situation was very difficult at the beginning of my career, we did not have a field to practice. We worked to build our academy ourselves and broke stones to make turf but when we look back now We get a lot of satisfaction after the results we get. "

When asked about the final of U19 World Cup Ravi Said, "The score on the Board was very less which benefited the opposition team (Bangladesh), we should have at least played the full quota of overs.

Regarding the clash with the Bangladeshi players on the eve of final, Ravi said, "There was a little debate between us in that heat of the moment, but I don't have any grudges with those players now."
