Hyderabad: The host of the first leg of Pro Kabaddi season 7 Telugu Titans will take on Tamil Thalaivas in the Southen Derby here at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Sunday.
This will be Thalaivas first match of the season while Titans are coming into this match after a defeat in the campaign opener against U Mumba.
All eyes will be glued on Rahul Chaudhari Rahul Chaudhari as after playing six seasons of PKL with Telugu and scoring record points, the talismanic raider will be playing for Tamil Thalaivs for the first time. Tamil Thalaivas also boast some star names like all-rounders Manjeet Chhillar and Ran Singh, defender Mohit Chhillar and veteran raider Shabeer Bappu.
Telugu Titans will hope for a special performance from their highest bid of the season Siddharth Desai. Desai didn't have the ideal start of the season as he managed to score only 5 raid points in the first match against Mumbai. Abozar Mighani who is captaining the side for the first time got good support from the experienced campaigner Vishal Bhardwaj in the defence.
- Bengaluru Bulls to face Gujarat Fortunegiants
Defending Champions Bengaluru Bulls will take on Gujarat Fortunegiants in the second match of the day. Bulls opened their PKL 7 camp with a cracking nail-bitter against three-time champions Patna Pirates. Last year’s MVP, Pawan Sehrawat continued his good form and fell short by one point to claim his first Super 10 of the season.
Bengaluru Bulls’ defence worked really well together in their last match and accounted for a total of 15 points, with Amit Sheoran starring with a High 5.
Gujarat Fortunegiants, the two-time finalist, have added to the versatility of their attack this season by picking Iranian raider Abolfazl Maghsodloumahali and Do-or-Die specialist More GB to complement their already successful raiding duo of Sachin Tanwar and Rohit Gulia.
The battle will be between Bulls raider and Gujarat's defence.
