Srinagar: As a part of International Mountain Day 2020 celebrations, the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir organised Snow Cycling and Ski Mountaineering events at Kashmir's Gulmarg. Everester and prestigious Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award winner, Aparna Kumar (IPS) was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Praising the enthusiasm shown by the skiers and cyclists, Kumar said, "It was overwhelming to see a large number of boys and girls participate in the adventure activities being organised by the Directorate of Tourism. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir has got huge potential and it was on full display here."

She further said, "The youth of all over the country must come here and take the best advantage of the skiing facilities available in Gulmarg. Nobody in the country should miss such an adventure and view."

Earlier, several cyclists from Kashmir participated in the first-ever Snow Slalom Cycling event organised by the UT administration in Gulmarg. The two-day event was organised by Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK), Mountain Biking Association (MBA) in collaboration with the tourism department to promote adventure tourism in the Valley.
