Hangzhou: Antim Panghal's stunning moves on the wrestling mat against Mongolia's Bat-Ochiryn Bolortuyaa on Thursday helped India clinch a bronze in the women's 53kg taking them close to the target of a total of 100 medals.

Panghal started the bout with an attempt to attack her opponent's legs. However, Bat-Ochiryn Bolortuyaa managed to escape it with a swit footwork. Both the wrestlers were putting in their hard efforts but the Mongolian wrestler lost a point for the passivity and the scoreline was soon 1-0 in the favour of Antim. Indian wrestler soon managed a takedown on her rival in the wrestling arena and fetched two points as a result. By the end of the first round, Antim was leading the scoreline by 3-0.

The Indian also lost a point for passivity in the second round but that didn't hurt her much. It was the only point the 19-year old conceded in the final round of the bout and with a victory, India's count of bronze medals increased.

Notably, it was India's 86th medal as Antim beat Bat-Ochiryn Bolortuyaa who is also a bronze medalist in the world wrestling championship in 2019. Antim has been making the nation proud with her achievements. Recently, she won a bronze in the world championship held this year which also booked her a birth in the Paris Olympics 2024.
