Without Rooney, D.C. United earn goalless draw against Montreal

D.C. United missed out on the chance to go top of the Eastern Conference standings on Tuesday after they were held to a goalless draw by mid-table Montreal Impact.

Montreal (2-2-2) concluded their six-game road stretch with a second straight nin-nil.

Hamid made the most important stop of the night to thwart Zachary Brault-Guillard in the 55th minute - in contrast his opposite number Evan Bush didn't have a save to make.

Both teams were playing without their leading goal-scorers.
