Washington: David Beckham, part owner of the Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, is auctioning off a chance to take him on in a five-on-five match, part of a package that includes lunch with the English legend and a chance to watch an Inter Miami game from the owners' box.

David Beckham ffers fans the chance to play football with him

“Hi everyone, it's David here. I wanted to let you know that I'm joining some great friends of mine in supporting an incredible campaign - I'm going all in on the all in challenge to raise much needed money for coronavirus relief. There are so many families being affected by this terrible situation, who are struggling to find money for food and we want to support some brilliant charities who are doing some incredible work every single day under such difficult circumstances,” Beckham said in a video.

He added, “With my Inter Miami family I want to offer you the chance to win a unique experience. You and four of your friends will play against my five-a-side team at the beautiful new Inter Miami training facility. After the game we'll have lunch together to gloat who has won and who lost and you will then be invited to watch an Inter Miami game with me and my good friend Jorge Mas. You'll get a VIP tour of our stadium to see the amazing facilities we've built for our new club, Beckham added.”

The auction is part of the league's participation in the All In Challenge, which raises money for organizations that are feeding the hungry during the coronavirus pandemic, including Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry, America's Food Fund, World Central Kitchen and Feeding America.

Other MLS-related auctions include an opportunity to fly to Los Angeles to attend an LAFC game with comedian Will Ferrell, a part owner of that club. MLS Commissioner Don Garber is auctioning off a chance for a fan to get their name on the official MLS game ball when games resume.

MLS suspended the season on March 12.
