EPL club Wolves FC urge players to avoid selfies, autographs

Wolves FC are currently placed at the sixth spot on the league table with 42 points from 28 matches. They will play their upcoming league match against Brighton at home on Saturday.

London: The world is grappled by Coronavirus, a deadly communicable disease. It was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Since January 2020, the Coronavirus claimed more than 3,100 lives and infected 90,000 globally.

So far 59 countries have been affected by this disease. Coronavirus not only disrupted normal life but also took a beating on the schedule of European club football.

Recently, Juventus cancelled training sessions of their senior team after U-23 came in contact with three infected players of Serie C side Pianese. Their Serie A match against Inter Milan was also cancelled due to Coronavirus epidemic in Italy where more than 1,600 people tested positive.

Now, the England football club Wolves FC asked their players to temporarily avoid casual fan interaction and restrain from taking selfies or giving autographs.

In a statement, the club said: "Wolves players and staff have been asked to avoid any unnecessary meetings, lunches or other public engagements, and temporarily avoid casual fan interaction such as selfies or autographs.

"Whilst we acknowledge that this will be disappointing for some supporters, we stress that this a temporary measure to protect the ongoing well-being of the Wolves squad and is a decision which has not been taken lightly. In addition, Wolves players and staff are also being instructed to avoid shaking hands where a warm smile and personal greeting will suffice."

The UK Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the public of COVID-19 from "low to moderate" after the first case was reported in the country.
