Paris: Manchester United, on Thursday, stunned French champions Paris Saint-German 3-1 in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League at the Parc Des Princes here to enter the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The Red Devils progressed on the away goals tiebreaker after a 3-3 aggregate draw — thanks to a stunning VAR decision that handed them a penalty in stoppage time.

The victory also helped the Manchester United to made Champions League history as they become the first team to come back from 2-0 down at home in the first leg to win in the second leg.

In the first half, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side started on fire as Romelu Lukaku scored very early to get United going. But, then PSG replied with a brilliant goal from Juan Bernat, thus putting the pressure back on the visitors.

However, United regained the lead when Lukaku capitalised on a goalkeeping error from Gianluigi Buffon to tap in the rebound from close range in 30th minute of the game.

Meanwhile, PSG were more clinical in the second half and they created many chances but failed to convert any. The hosts' mistakes eventually cost them their quarterfinals berth as Manchester United got a penalty in the dying minutes with the help of VAR and Marcus Rashford made it 3-1 to seal the deal for the EPL club.

Interestingly, it was a remarkable comeback from the Red Devils as they were missing 10 key players, including Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
